KTCT SAN MATEO, CA 1050 VERIFICATION

KTCT was a bigg suprise during AND3. They was heard many days with very good signal. Program Director Lee Hammer verified my report. He tell me that they haven't done anything to their transmitter. So I guess it was just conditions:-)

KGOW BELLAIRE, TX 1560 VERIFICATION

KGOW was heard with a very good signal with it's daytime power. Just a few seconds afther the ID they switch to nightime power/pattern and dissapeard. E-mail from John Granato verified my report.

KVSI MONTPELIER, ID 1450 VERIFICATION

A brief e-mail from Keith Martindale verfied the report to this station. "The voice of Southeastern Idaho" was heard on both AND2 and AND3 expedition.

KOTZ KOTZEBUE, AK 720 VERIFICATION

KOTZ is one of my "local" stations when I'm at Andoya. They have a very good signals and they are very nice to listen to. I send them a report this year and a nice e-mail from Chief Engineer Pierre A, Lonewolf verified my report.

KRPL MOSCOW, ID 1400 VERIFICATION

E-mail with a nice attached verification letter from Gary Cummings verified my report to KRPL. 1400 was a "good" frequency during the AND3 expedition so I hope more new stations will be found from all recordings!

KXRO ABERDEEN, WA 1320 VERIFICATION

Another Washington station we hear with a good signal was KXRO. E-mail from Pat Anderson, Operations Manager verified my report. We had some very good propagations to WA, OR and I'm sure more QSL's from these states will show up! Thanks to Pat for a nice verification.

KBBO SELAH, WA 980 VERIFICATION

Been a while since I have updated the blog so here followes the QSL I received so far in November. First out from the AND3 expedition was a e-mail from Greg Dourin, Vice President at KBBO - "K-USA" - on 980. Heard them with a good signal one morning.

KOTA RAPID CITY, SD 1380 VERIFICATION

KOTA is heard now and then up in Northen Norway. I have had some problems to get a verification from them. But, finaly Don Grant verified my report with a e-mail. He also promissed to send me a verification letter by mail.

AND3 DX-EXPEDITION

Unfortunately the internet connection didn't work at Andoya so no update during the exp. We started on Oct. 16th and ended around 10 a.m Oct. 26th. Conditions was from good to superb most days. Often open up around 8.30 p.m UTC towards the southern part of Brazil followed by stations from the eastern part of USA/Canada. We manage to hear daytime signals from all of USA. Some highlights so far: WCTS 1030, WYSL 1040, KATQ 1070 and WLCM 1390. I'm sure a lot more will show up when we going trough the recordings. Many thanks to Geir, Jan and Tore for 10 nice days in "Hytta"!

KSOO SIOUX FALLS, SD 1140 VERIFICATION

Receiving QSL-cards in the mail is more and more seldom these days. But, CKDO sent a card to me verifying my AND1 report afther several months waiting. CKDO is heard with good signals during openings to the eastern parts of North America.

Very nice e-mail from Len Harris, Engineer verified my AND2 report. This station was heard on the 3rd February when conditions was very disturbed. Ther was no sign of the very dominate canadian CBW. Just a weak KATD with a top of the hour ID for KIQI 1010 witch they are simulcasting. Len informe me that KATD is in the process of building a new transmitter facility near San Fransisco witch should be completed by the end of the year. Curently they running 1000 watts non-directional due to vandalism at the transmitter site. The new facility will be 10 000 watts day and 5000 watts night, both directional.

Very nice e-mail from Keating Willcox verified my AND2 report on May 14th. WNSH was heard during the very good 10 minutes opening on Feb 2nd around 2200 UTC. In a second mail WNSH's engineer Greg say that WNSH was running a bit below 11 kilowatt when I heard them. They have licence to run 30 KW daytime but due to local interference to a local nearby private school they have to reduce power. Nighttime power change to 85 watts took place 10 minutes after this observation, at 5:15 pm (EST).

Chris say that KERI have just installed a new 50/10 kilowatt transmitter and adjust the antenna array so he is interested to hear if they have improved their signal.

3rd verification this evening came from CKDM 730. Bruce Leperre, Program/Music Director respond to my report in just a few minutes. He's sorry that they don't have the QSL cards to send out that they used to do!

Very nice e-mail from Joel Swanson, General Manager at KEYZ verified my AND2 report this evening. KEYZ was on my "most wanted" list and it was nice to finaly hear them. CFFR in Alberta is very dominate on this frequency so it's hard for KEYZ to beet them!
