RADIO TINAMAR, LAS PALMAS, CANARY ISLAND 89.0 QSL NEW COUNTRY ON FM!

 

June 22nd 2024 was also a very exciting Es day. I start to hear stations from Morocco at around 11:30 UTC.  At 11:40 I was abel to log SNRT Al Idaã Al Amazighia, Laayoune (Western Sahara) a distance of 4197 kilometers. NEW PERSONAL RECORD!  Finally, I had managed the goal of reaching over 4000 km on FM! Unfortunately no QSL yet.

At 13:00 UTC a station faded up with Spanish on 89.0 giving the PI code as C085 and RDS TINAMAR It was a bit of a shock to find out that this was the 100 watt station from Las Palmas 4161 kilometer away!! I was very pleased to receive a verification from them on messanger!

ICTIMAI RADIO, LERIK AZERBAIJAN 89.3 QSL NEW COUNTRY ON FM!

 

21st June 2024 was a special DX day for me! At 0713 utc I noticed a station on 93.9 with the PI code B202 and after a little searching I found out that this was IRIB Radio Ardabil from Moghan, Iran (3571km double hop Es). I had to go back to work so I could not listen live. But in the evening a was checking my recordings and was able to identify 6 stations from Iran. Unfortunatly I have not been able to receive any QSL from them.  A station on 89.3 was very interesting. I could not recognize the language but they was talking about soccer and mention several known european soccer players. Signal was good, but no PI/RDS code!  After some investigation and a look at the map I found out that Lervik was close to the Iranian boarder and that Ictimai Radio (A sport station) was transmitting on 89.3. I sent them a message and the answer came quickly. They were very surprised to have been heard in Norway and they wanted to make a feature about it in the broadcast on 25.6! I could not hear them on FM, but I was listen to the online stream and made a recording of it! This opening lasted only for 3-4 minutes and I was lucky I have my recording going!

 KWKC was heard back in 2020 with a good signal but was hard to get a verification from.  Finaly I received an e-mail QSL.

Catalonia is a very interesting DX target. At Arvid Frøsland's QTH at Lista Spania is very well heard during Sporadic E conditions.  Thanks to Arvid I have a remote radio at his QTH. Radio Celra was heard with a great signal on July 9th 2023.  E-mail QSL.
