June 22nd 2024 was also a very exciting Es day. I start to hear stations from Morocco at around 11:30 UTC. At 11:40 I was abel to log SNRT Al Idaã Al Amazighia, Laayoune (Western Sahara) a distance of 4197 kilometers. NEW PERSONAL RECORD! Finally, I had managed the goal of reaching over 4000 km on FM! Unfortunately no QSL yet.
At 13:00 UTC a station faded up with Spanish on 89.0 giving the PI code as C085 and RDS TINAMAR It was a bit of a shock to find out that this was the 100 watt station from Las Palmas 4161 kilometer away!! I was very pleased to receive a verification from them on messanger!

Hi Ole, Congrats! Very good DXs!... but don't believe the power indicated for Spanish stations. One thing is the assigned power and another very different thing is the actual power used. They take advantage of the inaction of the Spanish communications authorities. Tinamar is a station that appears constantly, and always with very strong signals. It's one of the first to appear and one of the last to disappear. I'd say it's in the 1 to 5 kilowatt range
Hi Mauricio, thank you for the coment! Very interesting info. I was suprised that Tinamar was the only station from Las Palmas that I heard that day, now I understand more!
